Chicagorilla

The Chicagorilla is Great Lakes Tattoo's signature design, created by Ralph Johnstone, a Chicago tattooer who worked on State Street. It's our tribute to the lineage of Chicago tattooing. We put the Chicagorilla on a t-shirt in 2013 when GLT opened, and the original tee has stayed available ever since. Since then, the design has shown up on nearly every kind of merch we've made: water bottles, socks, sweatshirts, tote bags, and more. We continue to release limited-run Chicagorilla pieces alongside the always-available original shirt.
